Some of my favorite writing of yours is in the footnotes Mike: "I think the social justice sector has woefully under-invested in individual donor fundraising support, skills-development and infrastructure. This has led to an over-reliance on philanthropic dollars and rich people. Rather than having the wealthy be one piece of a larger funding puzzle, the wealthy are the main piece. This is not a healthy dynamic, and makes it harder to organize the rich. When organizations feel like they need the rich more than the rich need them, it’s a rotten foundation from which to create partnership, solidarity and mutual interest."

Speaking such truth to power!

Mike! This lands in my inbox right on time! I was just asking myself what my plans are for staving off fascism in 2024. Thanks for all the ideas and encouragement!!! I didn't know about Seed the Vote and I needed to be reminded that i can volunteer with SURJ.

I have two questions/thoughts, both (somewhat)minor:

1. Is Biden not investing in a ground game? I just went on the Biden-Harris website and it's a hiring bonanza. Working for a coordinated campaign can also be a great way to engage (if you have the flexibility) so I am not sure it makes sense to lead with this.

2. Many state-based donor tables are also c3. Some of them really focus on c4 but it's so varied by state strategy. Just in case you have some megabucks reader who needs only tax deductibles, and also because c3 groups need those donor table dollars, too!

Hugs and more hugs!

- Cara
