Such a great conversation. I liked the interspersed videos. They made some key points even clearer. As an only recently wealthy person (when the kids left, when we were finally able to dip into our retirement funds), I totally have a mind set of "I have enough. I don't need to worry. I can buy whatever I want (which tends to be not much)." I didn't think the conversation addressed people like me, who grew up not feeling like there was money (even though my parents deceived me on that point, there was totally enough) and then kind of suddenly actually having money. So I still have trouble giving away large amounts of money--although you've inspired me to sit down and write some decent checks to my favorite charities.

This conversation didn't address the question of wealth and giving for people who grew up with financial insecurity. It's such an important topic and I hope I can share a conversation about that sometime soon.
